Indeed Incredible, a nice classic taste i'd say.   July 15, 2013   Report Abuse

I cannot put my love i have for Steve Carell & Jim Carrey into words. Such fantastic and very entertaining actors.

Besides that. The movie is one of those classic tails where a pair of friends which have been doing something great together since they were kids, came apart only to realize that they complete each other.

While the first obstacle is the relationship between Anton & Burt, there is another threat on the rise which is Steve Gray, the new "revolutionary" magician who takes magic to the extreme, performing horrific and revolting street magic making Burt & Anton's magic look old and stale.

The reason this movie deserves my 4 stars is because at the end it shows that the real sense of wonder is in the feelings you convey within your performance, once you lose your sense of "wanting to wow the audience" you lose your skill as a performer.

Definitely recommending this to anyone :) Enjoy the film!

Great cast, lots of laughs, very stupid!   July 7, 2013   Report Abuse
By myshinshurt   This is my only review so far.
The movie is all about wacky magic acts. The tricks are too absurd sometimes to allow for later tricks to look impressive by comparison. That leaves the ending of the movie a little disappointing, though also hilariously funny once it hits the credits. I won't ruin the story for you, though.

The humor in this movie is very funny. It offers you many big comedy stars along with some drama stars to try to produce a laughably bad story about two magicians from childhood to adulthood... but nothing in between.

Anyway, I give it 2/5 stars because it is a little too stupid at times. If you can deal with the absurdities, it is a nice rental.
